Sevelamer Hydrochloride Generics
Utilized in Dialysis
How it operates
It contains sevelamer, a calcium and metal-free phosphate binding polymer (allylamine hydrochloride) that is not absorbed. It has many amines that are isolated from the polymer backbone by a single carbon. In the intestine, these amines undergo partial protonation and engage in ionic and hydrogen bonding interactions with phosphate molecules. Selamer reduces the amount of phosphate in the blood by adhering to it in the gastrointestinal tract.

Precautions for Renavel Tablets
Take Precaution
In rare instances, patients using sevelamer hydrochloride have had intestinal blockage. One of the antecedent symptoms could be constipation. Constipated patients should be closely watched when receiving sevelamer hydrochloride treatment. Patients who experience severe constipation or other serious gastrointestinal problems should have their treatment reevaluated.
Warnings for Renavel Tablets: Warning 1
It is advised that patients with hypothyroidism who are receiving levothyroxine and sevelamer hydrochloride be closely monitored.
Warning 2: Dialysis patients are susceptible to unique infection risks associated with the dialysis modality. Patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) are known to develop peritonitis, and several occurrences of the condition were documented in a clinical research using sevelamer. In order to guarantee the consistent application of suitable aseptic technique and the timely identification and treatment of any symptoms linked to peritonitis, patients on PD should be regularly watched.
Caution Sevelamer crystals have been linked to cases of severe inflammatory illnesses of various gastrointestinal tract segments, including major problems like hemorrhage, perforation, ulceration, necrosis, colitis, and colonic/caecal mass. Sevelamer withdrawal may result in the resolution of inflammatory diseases. Reevaluating sevelamer hydrochloride medication is necessary for people who experience severe gastrointestinal issues.
